Terms of use

These terms cover your use of Heard: the app, the website and our texts and emails. Heard is run by Heard Labs LLC("we", "us"). By using Heard you agree to these terms. Please also read our privacy policy.

What Heard is

Heard connects people looking for shifts with cafés, restaurants and bars that are hiring. We aren't the employer and we don't guarantee a job, an interview or a reply. Hiring decisions, pay and working conditions are between you and the venue.

Your account

• You must be 18 or older.
• One account per person, in your own name, with a phone number or email address that's yours.
• Keep your profile and work history truthful. Venues rely on them.
• Don't share your sign-in codes. You're responsible for what happens on your account.

Applying for work

• You get 3 applications in any 7 days to start, and up to 7 as you add to your profile, plus 1 super like. The limit keeps applications meaningful for venues.
• Venues have 72 hours to reply. If they don't, the application closes and you get it back. You also get it back if the position was filled.
• We may change these limits. We'll show the current ones in the app.

For venues

• Only verified venues can post jobs or see applicants. You must be authorized to hire for the venue.
• Jobs must be real and current, with honest pay and tip information.
• Use applicants' information only to consider them for work at your venue. Don't copy it, sell it or contact people for anything else.
• Follow employment law, including anti-discrimination law, and pay for work performed, trial shifts included.
• Trial shifts happen at your venue's address, during the times you set.

Be decent

Don't harass anyone, post anything illegal, hateful or sexual, impersonate someone, spam, or try to get around the application limit with extra accounts. Report anything that feels wrong to hello@heard.biz. We may remove content, or suspend or close accounts, that break these terms.

Your content

You own what you post. You give us permission to store it and show it as described in our privacy policy: for example, to show your profile to the venues you apply to, or a venue's photos to workers. This lasts until you delete it or your account.

Text messages

If you give us your phone number, you agree to receive texts from Heard: sign-in codes and alerts about your applications, invites, trial shifts and, for venues, new applicants. Next to the phone field we say: "We'll text you codes and updates about your applications. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out."

• How often we text depends on your activity.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to stop texts. Reply START to turn them back on. Reply HELP for help, or email hello@heard.biz.
• Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• We don't share your phone number or your consent to receive texts with anyone for their marketing.

Paid features

Heard is free to use. If we add paid features, we'll show the price and terms before you buy anything.

Leaving

You can delete your account at any time from your Profile. Our privacy policy explains what happens to your data.

Disclaimers

Heard is provided "as is". We do our best to verify venues and keep things safe, but we can't promise the service will always be available or error-free, and we aren't responsible for what venues or workers do. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to $100.

Changes and governing law

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you before the change takes effect. Arizona law governs these terms.
